The applications for the summer Youth Leadership Conference at Stanford University are out! The application can be found here. Please note that two recommendations are required so do not delay in requesting them! The sign-up for the Spring Conference at Stanford University are also out and can be found here! This is a great opportunity to meet new people from other high school and collegiate chapters!
In order to promote these upcoming events, the Cupertino Team HBV chapter hosted a meeting where members made their own promotional posters for both the spring conference and the summer residential program. The posters will be displayed on message board around school and an announcement will be made on the school's message board.

For Team HBV's Christmas project, we decided to hand out candy canes with hepatitis B facts on them at lunch. We believed that this project would bring facts to light and create educated awareness amongst the community. To start off, we brought candy canes, string, scissors, small papers, pens, and a hole puncher to our meeting. We projected a list of HBV facts and asked members to write them on pieces of paper. Once they were written, members were to hole punch the paper and put a string through it, tying it to the candy cane and then giving them back to us. A week after this meeting, we rounded up volunteers to distribute the candy canes, handed them a box of candy canes each, and handed them out throughout the quad as people walked to class. This project was a festive relief before a week of exams and educated the public about hepatitis B.
