For Team HBV's halloween outreach project, we decided to kick the year off with a creative project that would introduce our club to the school. In order to create something eye-catching that could spur a conservation, we introduced a pumpkin decorating project! We bought small pumpkins, googly eyes, glitter glue, pipe cleaners, and oragami paper to decorate the pumpkins. Once pairs of members decorated their pumpkin, we collected the pumpkins and asked teachers to display them on their desks with pamphlets about HBV. This creates awareness for both the staff and the students of our school, allowing Cupertino Team HBV to effectively spread our presence and create change.

Upon this weekend's bake sale at the Cupertino Library, Lynbrook Team HBV and Cupertino Team HBV were able to raise a grand total of $170.53 for wildfire relief! The bake sale occurred from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM and we were able to receive both profit from the cookies and flat donations. Our booth featured HBV pamphlets, rubber bracelets, jade ribbon pins, and, of course, cookies! We handed out these hepatitis B informational materials in front of the library, and even encountered a woman who told us a personal story about hepatitis B and how it affected her grandfather. All proceeds from this sale will be given to the following Santa Rosa, Napa, and Sonoma County wildfire relief GoFundMe pages:
